Community Employment

Independent community employment is the ultimate goal for our vocational clients. This occurs when the necessary skills are learned and they are ready to leave the sheltered programs offered by our workshops and client operated businesses. A Vocational Program Coordinator (PC) will assist the client in finding, developing and maintaining a job.

The PC provides as much or as little assistance as the client needs.  Sometimes a job coach is utilized to help the client adjust to the new job. They will also set up natural supports in the workplace that would also assist the client in reaching independence.
